BWC – IT Consultant Location: Columbus, OH(Onsite from day 1) Requisition Id: 658518 Short Description Candidate must have extensive, proven experience as a versatile CA Gen applications architect and enterprise data modeler Complete Description: BACKGROUND Candidate must have extensive, proven experience as a versatile CA Gen applications architect and enterprise data modeler. The resource will be assigned to our Rates and Payments Applications team, working with a collaboration of Gen Developers and Business Process Analysts, contributing to the software development of many closely bundled actuarial as well as payment related components. As a senior level resource, the candidate is expected to demonstrate they have the depth and range of required skills, knowledge and experience that is needed. They will be responsible for business process analysis and modeling to analyze the potential for streamlining or reengineering business processes via the implementation of CA Gen, Report Composer, Crystal Reports and SOA Composer solutions; recommending approaches and coordinating activities for requirements gathering & process synthesis; identifying risks & recommending changes related to processes & projects; analyzing specification requirements and validating solutions; and the development of project plans with project managers. They should also be a good problem solver, as they will be asked to be available as a resource to the Rates and Payments on call 24/7 production support staff for functional questions in addition to keeping up with their project workload. REQUIRED SKILLS: 10 or more years experience in the following: • CA Gen (version 7.x and up) • Crystal Reports (version 11 and up) • Report Composer (version 8.x and up) • SOA Composer (version 8.x and up) • Software development methodologies, lifecycle management concepts • Business process analysis, modeling & process synthesis • Statistical & quantitative analysis • Conceptual and technical relational data modeling • Highly normalized relational databases in DB2 and Oracle • QMF, SQL, PL/SQL Developer query tools and techniques • TSO, FileManager, JCL • Microsoft Office (2007 and up) with an emphasis on (1) Access - DB creation, importing and analysis of data (2) Excel - importing and analysis of data employing complex formulas and macros • Knowledge of actuarial principles in establishing rates and setting reserves • Knowledge of worker’s compensation insurance operations DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: 10 years experience in the following: • Technical writing and analyzing information from business owners and customers for the implementation of information technology solutions. • Requirements analysis principles & methods for information technology solutions in CA Gen, Report Composer, Crystal Reports & SOA Composer. • Validating IT solutions by analyzing the end-product against business requirements. • Defining the customer experience and defining business requirements to architect designs for IT solutions for insurance (rating/reserving, payroll/premium, quarterly summations) calculation functions for the collection of insurance premiums. • Enterprise data modeling, collaborating with data analysts and functional/business process analysts in the development of highly normalized data models. • Quality assurance principles and practices. • Complex problem solving. • Experience in a large IT Shop environment (>100 IT employees).
